OctoPrint is open source 3D printer management software.
OctoPrint was developed by Gina Häußge in 2012 to support her 3D printer. Its distribution began on GitHub, and the development itself was sponsored from 2014 to 2016 by the Spanish smartphone maker BQ. For this reason, the project has since been funded solely through Patrion.
The software provides the ability to control and monitor the operation of the printer through a web interface that you can access from anywhere as long as you have the Internet. OctoPrint not only provides the ability to monitor parameters such as temperature and remaining time, but can also transmit a live picture.
OctoPrint was created with the idea of easy-to-use and light-duty software, making it ideal for use with a small and not very powerful computer such as the Raspberry Pi 2 B or later. There are also options for integrating a variety of plug-ins, which in turn makes it compatible with many popular and affordable 3D printers such as: Creality Ender 3, Prusa i3, Robo 3D, etc.
